Phins has one of these:

I think technically thiy're considered 'midibikes'.

I have a little tiny one, look at http://www.pocketbikeplanet.com for research. The 'good quality' pocket bikes you speak of can cost upward of $2500.00.

the one phins has is the same as the one I had. either big or small any one under $500 is a cheap *** china bike. They are ok, kinda slow without mods, but they last if you take care of them. I sold mine and the new owner still beats the **** out of it. The "china" bikes need a few mods to make them move. air filter, carb, exhaust, and timing key. easy to install and make a big difference.

Now if you want a GOOD bike you have a few choices. you can get a polini or blata italian made race bikes. They are high quality, fast as hell, but prices start at $2k for a new one. now that winter is here you can pick up a used one for a fair price. here is a pic of my polini:

now for your second choice. You can get a honda nsr, or a yamaha ysr50. I have the yamaha. The honda is good, but it's not street legal. The yamaha is 100% street legal, looks cool, and is fast as *****. It's a real bike, with a clutch, and 5 speed tranny!!!. Search on ebay, you can find a good ysr for $500-1500. Just check you local laws regarding titles. most of the ones on ebay don't have the title.

my ysr:

its roughly 5 feet long, 3.5 high. 190 pounds. I'm 6'1" 220 and fit on it perfect.

It's a 50cc 2 stroke. 5 speed. hydraulic front disk brakes, drum rear brake. headlight, tail light, brake light, turn signals and horn. They are kick start, but you can put it in 2nd gear roll a few feet and pop the clutch. Thats my preferred method.

Just watch out when you buy one. They are from 1988, so alot of them are beat to ****, and all the wiring is chewed up. You can get any part you need for them though from www.teamcalamari.com

I'm not sure on top speed of theese bikes, mine has only a filter and exhaust and in 3d gear the speedo maxes out at 50MPH
