OK first the run down on the car, 10th Anniversary, 47,000 miles, everything is in excellent condition. The clutch was totally fried, even fried the flywheel, which i hope can find another somewhere cheap cause the aftermarkets are a small fortune, got the clutch out the evening, the new ACT clutch should be here this week from rotormotorsports, the sunroof motor is a little tired and it needs a new door lock on the drivers side.

Now for the good stuff, looks like a few mods have been done, but I am still looking it over. It has 3 inch Racing Beat exhaust back to the Y-pipe, then goes 2.75 out the back, looks like a racing beat drop down as well, possibly a shorts shifter, can't tell but it looks it. Also a very funky guage and a funked up button from racing beat, I have included the pics. Has one dent in the door, needs paint and the 10th AE badges to be perfect, they got stolen at some point.

Here are the pics!!!

Oh yeah great another TII that I don't have! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Great car! Of course I'd take a 10th AE in almost any condition if I could swing it. Something like that's worth the trouble ressurecting.

Rob x-7 07-14-2002 09:08 AM

That gauge is a boost control module, controls the boost curve, I bet it has the fuel cut controller as well! That module allows fingertip control from 7-15 PSI. Part #23000 in the Racing Beat catalog ( which is a simply beautifull catalog might I add ) Sounds like the car is a great find, but its not original anymore, so Ill only offer you $500 to take it off your hands https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif You fugger ! By the way, are there alot of TIIs for sale on the west coast? And I see the weather report for Seattle today, 55 degrees?? No wonder you dont need A/C there!!!!!

vosko 07-14-2002 09:25 AM

rob is correct! again congrats. you should have ALOT of fun. i have a spare 89 TII flywheel that just needs resurfacing. i know its ALOT lighter than a S4 TII flywheel. if anyone can confirm it will work. it's all yours https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

DaddyMac 07-14-2002 12:47 PM

awesome, where did you find it :o

phinsup 07-14-2002 02:46 PM

Actually sidewinderx7 found it for me! HA HA dunno what I was thinking there. LOL

It woudln't work, different counterweights between the s4 and s5.

Take the flywheel to a profesional speed/machine shop, they'll tell you if it can be recut again. Should also notice that it is a stepped flywheel. If they dont' know that, don't let them have the flywheel.

Well that car is in great ******* condition. I got to "drive https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png " it from Everett, and it was awesome. lol, j/k.

Alright seriously the car is nice. The boost controller is a serious find, and the exhaust is like brand new.

Congrats Phinsup!

phinsup 07-14-2002 03:52 PM

No I used to turn flywheels myself and I can promaise you this one has about 50 hot spots in it.... I don't think an respecatble machine shope would turn and it's not something I want to risk with a $400.00 clutch LOL

Soo... I either need to find a used turnable flywheel or buy a lightened for a cool $300.00+

Thanks for answering my question turbortor on the flywheels... at least I know where I am at!!

Twin89Stangs 07-14-2002 03:58 PM

phinsup 07-14-2002 04:02 PM

phinsup 07-14-2002 04:06 PM

Isamu didn't tell you guys how much fun we had getting it home the first night LOL

Twin89Stangs 07-14-2002 04:11 PM

phinsup 07-14-2002 04:12 PM

Twin89Stangs 07-14-2002 04:14 PM

I also have an engine driven cooling fan off of an 89 GT mustang... lol

Sorry no parts for 7's yet... though if I do run across them I will most likely pick them up incase you guys need anything..

isamu 07-14-2002 05:26 PM

Yea, it was quite an adventure to say the least. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png I'm just glad we didn't see any cops when we were towing it, since they probably wouldn't of liked the fact that we were towing it after sunset with no lights or anything. And to think it was all a stinking battery cable and bad fuel filter. Oh well, I must say it sounded real strong after we got it running that night! Much better than at the lot.

phinsup 07-14-2002 05:28 PM

Yea it has turned over first try every time since.... needless to say I put it on jack stands to pull the tranny.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

isamu 07-14-2002 05:36 PM

needless to say I put it on jack stands to pull the tranny..
I think that was a good idea. We wouldn't want another mishap with the ramps. :o

:bigok:

phinsup 07-14-2002 05:42 PM

I just put a generic fuel filter on it until I can order a quality one, the Fram filters suck balls. I need to get a throttle cable too, where is the best place to get that... dealer?

isamu 07-14-2002 06:34 PM

I would call and ask. They have throttle cables at Mazdatrix for 47.00$. I called the dealer in Lynnwood about bearings for my stationary gears and he quoted me 15.50$, plus he had to order them. Mazdatrix had them for 12.00$ a piece and it cost like 5.50 for shipping. By the time you figure in Sales tax, I probably saved a little bit. But at least I knew what I was getting. The guy at the dealer wasn't too familiar with the 13B.

Dealer or Mazdatrix. Pep Boys may be have one.

phinsup 07-14-2002 06:45 PM

they have it in stock at schucks for $13.99 guess that solves that problem.

isamu 07-14-2002 06:48 PM

Got one, should be here by Thursday, where were you yesterday LOL I do appreciate the offer though. Yea speaking of fuel filters, I am in the same boat, I stuck a temporary one in the 10th AE until I could find something better then the fram pile of ****.

7mech 07-16-2002 12:45 PM

Sorry I was doing that quality time thing with my wife. Its all good though b/c I still can use it on my car when my clutch goes. It will save me from having to wait for mine to be reserfaced.

Fluke_SDS 07-16-2002 02:05 PM

Wow, phinsup you are amazingly lucky https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/moon.gif lol. Up here in Canada 10th aniv. ed.'s are as rare as a ricer civic ... wait a minute something seems wrong there, lmao https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

phinsup 07-16-2002 02:22 PM

I'll snap some exterior pics on Saturday after I do a wax job. I am very excited to get to drive it. I went and got it registered at lunch today so I am good to go!

ILUVMY88CABRIO 07-16-2002 03:11 PM

Well I'm picking up the brake master cylinder tomorrow, and I might order a few other things for the AE. Phinsup, would you be down for having a little AE fixing party this weekend?

phinsup 07-16-2002 03:13 PM

Yea that would be great! We'll have the compressor running over time.. we may even get time to yank the tranny out of the 84 if we finish both the AE's! Then we can go for a spin!

ILUVMY88CABRIO 07-16-2002 03:16 PM

Anyone out there know of a good place to get some cross drilled rotors for a good price?

phinsup 07-16-2002 03:18 PM

EEEK, the only disadvantage is you can't have them turned! Lemme look around. You need them by this weekend?

ILUVMY88CABRIO 07-16-2002 03:25 PM

I just figured it would be fun to put them on. I am collecting on the bet that I won today, so I've got some $ burning a hole in my pocket. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png I'm getting a swtarion IC from Rotaryman88, maybe I'll just buy something else, like a BOV and boost controller. I'll figure it out tonight. Well, gotta go to work now. :(

phinsup 07-16-2002 03:26 PM

We gotta get my boost guage and controller switchy dealy bobber working on saturday too, still no locks for it yet though...
