Vosko is right. For a shop car, the quality is poor. It looks more like a shade tree mechanic swap with wires running everywhere, no brackets made to hold some of the relocated/after-market items, etc. I hate to sound critical because a conversion like this is not easy and obviously took a lot of care and planning.
As for the conversion itself, I have no problem but please pick another car even if a first or second gen Rx7 where they made 50,000 a year. The FD is so rare.
I have one of those "if I win the lottery this weekend" ideas of putting a 3-rotor into an AC Cobra roadster body. Its light weight with awesome looks. However, I'd have respect for the original Cobra and use a replica body and not a rare car. Not saying an original Cobra and FD compare in terms of value but they are both rare cars with a unique place in automotive history.
I also wouldn't go around the Cobra forums being a troll and trying to convince them mine is better because I built 10 V8 engines and they all died for the same reason.

the 180sx IS right up there with the fd. don't fool yourselves...
i have seen a 13b in an s13 and i thought it was pretty cool.
i have seen SRs make in excess of 750whp. is that enough to play with the 13b
(that particular sr was a completley built 2.2 liter stroker motor with a very big turbo- no nitrous)
i also agree with you guys that the 13b belongs in the fd, but why get all bent out of shape about a motor in someone else's car?
i also think the tubo placement is gay and that valve cover could use a polish...
who gives a **** if the car is rare? if it's that big of a deal to you then buy them ALL up.
what do you care what motor other people are running?
"defeats the purpose of the rx-7" oh, please... despite the origins of the car's name mazda designed the car to be a great sports car. it still can be with the sr. it's as light as the 13b.
if vosko could drive he would still own this car anyway.... until this guy gets serious about the sr...
