We used to do it when the airplanes came in all the time, they have an onboard bottle that had to be refilled so we put it to good use. It's a great hangover helper!

Hey, I have an idea! For my next party I want to pay some people to make this place look like a hospital! I'm so excited! Being in the ER with those tubes in your nose is the COOLEST.

Pure oxygen scares me. Explosive, and can kill scuba divers under certain pressures. Or at least that's what they kept telling us in scuba class. I'd be happy to be able to breathe de-pollenated air.

i know that we don't breathe anywhere close to pure oxygen, would breathing 98% oxygen for a long amount of time be harmful ?

This is how it was explained to me,

The oxygen/carbon dioxide transfer in your lungs works by fluids moving from higher concentrations to lower concentrations. If you breathe pure oxygen, your body can't absorb it all, so you still have oxygen left in your blood after circulation. When it meets up in the lungs again, the transfer of co2 doesn't happen well enough because of the over-saturation of o2. Or something like that. Good for temporary/healing purposes, but bad for long periods in healthy people. But my memory may have skewed the facts.

I don't know, consult a physician and ask if oxygen is right for you.

Hey, I don't smoke so I already have the advantage of NOT having to use one of those later in life. Why the hell would I want to use one and take away that particular benefit? I read about these things a long time ago, they were started in Japan I believe. Shifting mad quik is a beneficial side effect, I'm sure.
