Last year someone broke into some offices in the floor below us, and stole a bunch of computers and stuff. Last week, some guy was spotted going through desks. Over the weekend, some offices down the hall had a bunch of flat monitors taken, computer cards were taken out, they even took the toner cartridge from the copier. They're JUST NOW getting around to planning security measures. Some offices were accessed with what they believe was a master key, so they're changing all our locks this week. In a matter of days, my 5 coworkers and me will be the only ones on our floor. Luckily, we haven't had anything stolen *yet*. This pisses me off. Just thought I'd share.

oh, and after hours, you're supposed to only have access to the building by calling security, and having them open the doors. Somehow they got in without doing this, and without actually breaking into the building

The people down the hall are in the process of moving, so there were all kinds of people coming and going. Someone could have snagged a key.

Now we're eventually going to have keycard entry, and only 2 entry/exit points. Man, this sucks.

ok, ok, it was me. I'm trying to start up a .com business, embezzle money to a phony name, then let the business die, change my name, sell all the equipment, and move to Florida (to the other side of town)

ok, that's a lie, but the more I typed, the better it started to sound...

well the part where you slipped up is the dot com buisness. if you were starting a .com that implies you have the money to buy pool tables and hanger monkeys and stuff.

We had a problem with the schools in the area I work, where the security guards were ripping off all the electrical gear. They got caught, I mean they were using their own keys and **** so there was no visible signs of entry (giveaway). Also, before they just started taking the stuff, they would catch people nicking stuff, confiscate the stolen stuff, let them go, then keep the stolen gear for themselves.

As I said though, they all got caught in the end.
