She may have said yes later, but I'm sure the experience of being tricked into a situation that quickly became a pressure cooker was a lot to deal with, let alone make some life-long commitment. Plus the dumbass should've known his woman well enough to know whether or not she'd say "yes."
I think this should have been pre-meditated by the couple, rather than a complete surprise! I think she might have been pissed off for being put in that position, what if they've only been going out for a couple days?

Holy **** that sucks... I was working at the ice skating rink one night and a man wanted to ask his g/f to marry him over the speaker because that was where they had their first date... Got on one knee in the middle of the ice, proposed... And she bowed her head, started crying, and said no. I felt SOOOOOOOOOO bad for him. He was so excited about doing it too...
