*I* think it was because his A/C was on, not the ABS...which caused massive powerloss in the drivetrain, this caused the bushings and control arm to move up and down more freely allowing the tires to pop through the fenders all "Classic Gran Turismo" style on hard bumps which led to the old guy with the "WTF Mate" face and therefore hitting the guy who cheated on his wife and damaging his car in the process....

...but that's just my guess...

Where'd you learn most of yer knowledge?

I learn a lot when things break apparently (Doh), and my one friend knows more than me with small stuff and I just laughed and said "well thats because you keep beatin on it and breaking crap!" and he shrugged...

...given...3 months ago I couldn't tell you how to replace an axle...until my integra needed one. As for ABS, Traction control, etc I read of that as I go along, and hear stories as such. But I've always wondered if the Front brakes received more than the rears (that 70% thing was interesting to read)...

Kevin works in a shop, I would imagine he knows what the **** he's talking about. LOL.

I work in a truck shop so if anyone wants to argue about air brakes, then yeah. I'd be in.

*waiting for the technical analysis as his retort is fully prepared*

kevin.
Sorry about the delay, Spyware took control of my IE.

There need not be any analysis, no technical proof, no nothing. Quite simply, we never had to get into any of this ****.

Here's what happened IMO, the guy was entering the corner way to fast and when he realized it he paniced and hit the brakes. Doings to, he locked up the front wheels which forbade him control of the vehicle and caued him to crash.

It's as simple as that, no ABS disscussion needed, no technical analysis needed, no bashing, no threats (which I never made and people chose to credit me with), and above all no gay bashing you wimpy little internet tough guy ******s.

i think your talking bout 60/40 split for front wheel drive where tha front recieves 60% of tha braking force since those are tha driving wheels i forget what tha ratio is for rear wheel drive though

well the % of front brakes to rear brakes is controlled by the car designers who base it on weight of the car and everything, but as an industry base it is 70% fronts 30% rears. of course you can buy aftermarket adjustable proportioning systems so you can level it to 50/50 or whatever floats your boat.

as for where i learned my knowledge, i read and work on **** firsthand. Not to enlarge my ego but i built a 1950's tractor from the ground up.....thats not the easiest task but it was a learning experience like none other because everything was barebone basic, and once you learn the bareboens everything else simply buils upon that. Abs is completely simple once you have a general idea of what goes on and what sensors it uses.

the new er systems being implemented by the luxury brands are taxing all mechanic/technician's abilities to adapt to an age in which more and mroe cars are controlled by more electronics then mechanical pieces, i just happen to be part of the wave of new guys who knows about the systems, i have the unfortunate task of replacing the veteran guy in the shop i currently work in as he just cant keep up to date on the new cars abilities, he's rich tho so he doesnt mind.
