The RE has larger intake ports and intake runners than the FC, the intake runners are also larger than an FD. The exhaust ports, however, are smaller compared to both the FC and FD. This is because the Cosmo was marketed as a luxury car, so they wanted higher torque.

To do the swap into an FC you will need;

Custom motor mounts

either a front mount, side mount, horizontal or V mount intercooler

a stand alone ecu. This is debated, some people have made it work with the cosmo ecu and some have made it work with the FC ecu, but it is complicated

Custom downpipes

an electric fan

That's all I can remember off the top of my head.

Does not seem to be a very complicated swap at all, if you wanted the stock twin turbo's. most people don't do that though. You can find the motor mounts for sale.

I am very interested in the swap when AND if I get a TII. I will most likely persue it.

Oh yeah, WRONG SECTION!

all that has been said is right...the potential power in the RE with minor upgrades is fantastic...if you want to go nuts its even better..the good thing about the RE is that the ports are so much larger than the FC and FD engine...the stock ones on the RE are the size of a large street port on an FD. Like it was posted the exh. ports are smaller..but they can be swaped for fd ones..If your going to do it...decide what your going to do before you start..what you want to do with it...me about 14k in parts and over 2 years of stocking them for the day the build starts.
