so yesterday I took a trip down to charleston and bought a 1985 yamaha virago 1000. It only has 4000 miles on it. Took it for a drive today and it was great. Now I have yet another reason to not spend money on the 7. Discuss.

Nice bike, fair amount of power.

Baldy 08-20-2008 03:17 PM

Sweet! I had an '81 Virago 750, what a hunk of ****! But that was out of neglect from previous owners. Have fun on it!

If it's 'slow' it'll teach you throttle control and give you some confidence with WOT. I'd have a bike but where I'm living I'd have nowhere to put it!!! So I'm thinking my next winter vehicle should be a van so I can store the bike inside it, lol.

if you get someone to drive the van you could just run it out the back

Heres my toy, the pic is a little old though. Wheels and brakes are different now.

Sweet ZX-7! I actually wouldn't mind having one, any year.

I'm thinking about a 01 ZX-9 or a 04+ CBR 1000

I'll post a few pics of the CBR this weekend.

Here are a couple pics, I need to take some more. That's my buddy on my bike, he almost dropped it the first time he took it for a ride.

It makes me want a 7 than can go from 80 to 160 in a 1/4 mile without downshifting...

1979rx7 09-05-2008 08:25 AM

mazdaspeed7 09-05-2008 02:28 PM

Just roll on the throttle from cruising in top gear.

G2G 09-30-2008 05:38 PM

New half shell for the ride. I also have a really nice full face shoei. Rode a HD sportster a couple weeks, much different than any other bike. Very bumpy. Then I took a nice BMW for a spin today. It was heavy but purrrred, very smooth. And usually once a week I shovel sand from in front of my driveway, sucks.
