Nopistons.net Down?
#5
Yes Nopistons.net is at this point in time salted for the chopping block. It is currently hosted on my work DSL connection and my company will be shutting down in April or so unless we by some miracle come up with the money it would take to move np.net to a dedicated... much like nopistons.com.

Is there anyway that the information found on nopistons.net could be transfered to nopistons.com? Perhaps a section of nopistons.com could be set aside for a photo/video area much like that of other forums I have browsed. If a larger server or something of the sort would be required for the extra information on nopistons.com, I could justify contributing to a fund of some sort.
It's great having a place to host some pictures for me and I'd hate to lose that capability. I'm not a computer guy so perhaps some of you all could bring a possible solution to the surface?
Thanks.
Kyle

Nopistons.com is hosted on my providesite servers, we currently burn through about 35 gigs of data transfer each month. Any of you that have ever had any kind of website know how much that costs on the open market.
Nopistons.net, with the video hosting and image hosting, even with far less traffic, burns through more then that. I can't host it providesite servers and continue to give my customers the service I am now, so I won't. I don't want my servers operating any where near capacity... so the only option as I said is to get a dedicated for nopistons.net, this will run us about $130.00 a month, assuming we remain around the same level of traffic/bandwidth.
So we would basically need a sponsor for it or some sort of commitment to to near $130 per month.

I've noticed that the pictures aren't appearing on nopistons.com either. Are these hosted on nopistons.net as well? If so, what is the plan as far as being able to put images up on nopistons.com? Will images have to be hosted from somewhere else and a link posted on nopistons.com only? Or will the nopistons.com server be able to handle the added load of the pictures that are posted?
I'm not liking the sound of this. Perhaps a resolution can be reached before April.
Thanks.
