I swear I hear more about scsi hardware dying from you than anyone else in the world, now, my good old slow *** reliable ide devices have never died, not bad since I have had this 30 gig ide HD running for about the last 2 years straight, and a pair of 1.2 gig ide drives that are god knows how old on my server, which runs for about 4 months at a time (damn power outages) for the past 3 years

Well I run SCSI on everything, the nopistons.net server is kind of a pile of *****. It was just some crap *** 12X CD-Rom I pulled off the shelf made in 1992 I think it said. There is a huge difference between slightly used and used to death LOL

We get power spikes here at the office all the time, I just need to get it on a surge protector.

hehe, I guess, I don't know, it just seems like scsi is often somewhat fragile when it comes to sudden power loss, I have heard about scsi stuff dying if it gets spiked often.
