ive been in quite a few art schools and had been drawing my whole life. I drew my share of cartoons. Im just saying that anyone can draw cartoons, there are many a levels of detail that dont go into them (unless you go the extra few miles, but then it loses the cartoon feel). I draw portraits, life stills, fantasy (dragons, monsters, people, etc..). I try to improve on small details and extracting different textured looks with pencil drawings. Im a huge fan of black and white pencil drawings. When drawing strictly cartoons you hit a wall and cant further your work. When drawing life objects (portraits are great for it) you learn so many more techniques that you can later incorperate into your cartoon drawings. But if you just draw toons, you never really learn.
but im not saying anything bad, anyone that likes arts is liked by me no matter what kind of drawing you do.
