First off, im light of a rough week, I want to thank Phinsup for running this hell hole. Why in the world someone would donate thier time for a bunch of idiots like ourselves is beyond me. I was wondering what made you start this board, how many members were there, how did the word get out, and how long did it take to get some decent traffic on here?

You certainly couldn't get a more diverse bunch of ******** (and ingrates) like you have on this board into a room, they would ineveitably end up killing eachother. God knows I would need my second clip ***brings smile to my face just thinking about it***
Certainly we all have our bad weeks, yes all of us, even vosko isn't perfect he just appears that way at times, but when you spend the time we all spend together you are going to see the ups and downs. Best to remember that ****insert your name here**** is not always an *******, he must be having a bad week.

Well I originally spawned the idea because I didn't really see an rx7forum that was accomplishing anything more then a polished storefront. With a vendor owned forum there are certainly restrictions on what can be posted, there is no way around it. Even after a year I think we have accomplished to opposite. We have a wide variety of sponsors, none them is paying so much that we can't afford to lose them, so none have any iron fist to slam down and of course there is logic that I have always adheared to, if you do in fact have the best prices why do you mind competition being posted... it should only prove a fact, not send people packing. What I really wanted was a place where people above all other things could get some help. There are certainly some differences in RX-7's from any other car on the road and being able to get advice from someone who has been there before is invaluable. I have always instilled in the moderators that we make sure tech questions get answered or we at least point the person in the right direction. It pains me to see topics on a forum titled "I just took the hugest ****" get 500 reponses and some guy that wants to know how to change his airfilter gets none...or gets a "use the search function" reply. That is not the way we work around here, even though we BS tech questions come first. So back to the story at hand, the original forum was ummm two members, me and ThridGen and we were on some shitty free host, with a shitty free board, it was about 2 weeks from when we opened the free board to when we moved to nopistons.com and opened the official forum. Which was hosted on shitty ikonboard (hey it was free), but we made good use of it. The name broke loose, I think it got posted and deleted on rx7club a couple times and word traveled reasonably slow LOL. At first it was just me and a few other members trying to think up **** to talk about, but if you build it, they will come and eventually they did. We got advertisers and moderators and we started advertising ourselves. Slowly picking up steam and picking up members, improving the formula until we got it right. A lot of you were here in the early days so you remember it.
I think we have done a great job of perfecting the formula, we have managed to keep this a fun place to hang out, to BS and I don't think we've ever taken it all too seriously. It is certainly a thankless job, from the bottom all the way to the top. But I have met some great people and made some great friends. It's a labor of love, I would certainly never claim that **** that goes on around here doesn't **** me off, but the good times and fun we have are worth the majority of the headaches LOL
I probably didn't say half the **** I wanted to, maybe I will do a follow up post when I get home LOL. Anyhow if I made it any longer... if you read this far, I am confident you would read no more
