Yea, transferring the subdomains should suck, but other then that I think it will be ok.

The server I am looking at is a bit of an upgrade.

Current: 1.7 p4, 512 mem, 40gig HD, RH 7.3

One I am looking at: 2.4 gig p4, 1024 mem, 160 gig HD, FreeBSD

Go FreeBSD. I'm going to set up my own FreeBSD server here soon, I think. This is all pending the shipment of a CDW order: 120gig/8mb/7.2K SATA drive for $59.50. I bought 2, so I'm hoping to raid one of the drives with my current one and build a microATX PC with the other.

Yea I may snag the bsd box tomorrow and start playing around with it. BUt my training was originally in Unix anyhow, so I am not too worried.

The decision has been made.

We'll be moving to a new data center, new cerver, new OS and new CP LOL.

I already signed up for the new box, take some time to fall back into the linux mood and then start the transfer, the only thing that will suck is the subdomains (member sites) with any luck everything else will go smoothly.

If there's any FreeBSD freaks out there let me know!
