new xbox overheat
#13
I know someone on the xbox team, he's been playing the thing for the last 6 months, my guess is it isn't a design issue, but something more like a bad batch of fans, etc, etc.....
There's updates to anything with an OS like the xbox, however it's pretty unlikely that the ones on the shelves now will be any different then the ones on the shelves in 10 days, any of them being sold for xmas are already stored in warehouses all over the US.

the point trying to be made is that a certain someone should have sold his xbox for double or triple what he payed, and then after Christmas when demand is down buy one thats probably updated as well.

it's beyond me why people pay 3 or 4 times the MSRP for these systems when they come out, it sux that sony and M$ ship a handful of units to retailers just to stir up a frenzy and make the local news.

i think microsoft is legitimate in their shortage:
the DID do a worldwide release in the span of a week
that means euope and japan had to see xbox 360's as well; japan is a crucial market.

It really depends on what you consider "legitimate". I mean, the release date has been set for months and to say that it was "impossible" to meet demand is kind of rediculous, supply and demand is a pretty unarguable ingredient in economics and if there's one damn thing that Unlce Bill knows it's economics. If no one camped out overnight and if there werent any fights of units selling on ebay for $1500 there wouldn't be much reason to put it on the news.

phins, i can see where youre coming from, but keep in mind that the system was still being tweaked up until like september, is a month and some change enough time to supply the whole world with a game console?
you can bet the same thing will happen with ps3
