Acutally amazingly enough ATI was faster then Nvidia this round, normally ATI is slower and has more issues then you can think of.

Have to see how the driver situation is going to be however.

ATI drivers = EVIL

Not as bad as the old Diamond drivers but close...
Yeah, Im still gonna get Nvidia though. The Nvidia is a totally new architecture. I think it will stay useful longer than the ati.

That's exactly what Tom's Hardware was saying about the NV40. The new ATI cards, the R400 or whatever, outperforms the NV40 in certain tests, but the NV40 has much more scalable architecture employing new technologies for game development that the ATI card does not have.

i got rich on the stock market from 3dfx. Bought in at 4.XX a share, went to 32.00 sold it to buy harley davidson as a freebie advice from y broker who just earned a **** load of money off of me.

Harley was on 2 year backorder for all their bikes several years ago. I thought it was moving to slowly so i dumped it to buy other risky stocks. Made more money then teh bubble burst and i lost enough to buy a rx-8 and a FD.

Sigh... now harley davidson has since split it's shares and been back to wear i sold it. I could've been somewhat well off.... but no i'm greedy

ahh, my Geforce FX5950 should be coming to my house soon, 256 megs of vid ram, tv in dvi out, should go well with my 512MB of dual channel ddr pc4000 ram, and 240 gigs of RAID0 SATA hd space, (me is happy about my new computer) and for the record, Nvidia drivers >>>> ATI drivers especially for linux.

You would have been better with a 5900, slight volt mod and Xdifia drivers. Better performance than 5950, less money.

What kind of ram? I have 512 DC pc4200 consair. Im wasnt happy with my system so i watercooled the CPU/GPU/NB/Ram and overclocked the hell out of it. XP1800+ @ 2639MHZ @ under 2.0vcore - 33-37C under full load.
