got a new video card for my computer and all I can say is DAMN!

the results stand for themselves

specs on the machine:

2.8Ghz Pentium4 C (800Mhz FSB + HT)

A-bit IC7-G motherboard

1 GB memory (2 x 512MB DDR400 in dual channel mode)

Radeon 9800 Pro (128MB)

Promise Fastrax SX4000 array controller (256MB cache)

4 x WD 120GB 7200 rpm (8MB cache) config'd at RAID5

Windows XP Pro

I haven't even had a chance to tweak the machine yet and nothing is overclocked (yet... ) The difference from the nVidia FX5600 I had before is amazing, not just on the benchmarks, but all of the 3d games I play too

I just wish adding gobs of reliable power to my FD was as quick and painless as adding it to my PC, the PC never seems to leave me with bloody hands after working on it and everything doesn't seem to take 3X longer than I expect

My 9700 didn't work very well without a new GPU heatsink and ramsinks, it's rock solid now. I guess dual Bartons don't help the heat issue
