New To Rx-7
#5
No pipe dreams just trying to decide on which car to buy. To be honest I am still looking at the Boxter and the BMW M coupe (hard top version of the Z3 M) I have studied the performance of the RX and it seems to be a real performer. And that is what I want, performance.

well you need to know that owning an rx7, and mostly a 3rd gen is not just owning a beautiful car, its a lifesyle that will suck you in to buying only rotary powered cars... that being said..dont let people convince you out of buying a 3rd gen with the old "yeah the engines blow after 60k miles" rumor....there are rotary engines with upwards of 200k miles and still running, it all depends on maintnence and how you drive it, if you dont floor it and race it all day every day and keep your foot off the gas you wont have too many problems..just make sure that the person you buy your 3rd gen from is knowledgable about the rotary engine..
and if its between the bmw, the boxter and the 7, the 7 is a bit more rare then the boxter and the bmw...also a bit lighter and better handling ( and better looks IMO)
all are extremely nice cars, but if you want more "bang for the buck" get the 7, it with propper tuning will out handle, out run and generaly out perform both bmw and porsche boxter..

A rotary will require more maintainance than the boxster and the M, but it'll be worth it. Why 94 and 95 exclusively?

CLASSIC!!!
So you study the performance but nothing else. Yeah! Whats the point!
Real performer? Ummm...not really. It drives like a saturn
If you want performance buy the new SI from Honda!! They get good gas mileage too!
