One thing i never got about the US and Canada Border. Whats to say that you cant cross by some forest with no roads into canada. THey only check for ID and whatnot by the major roads right?

So whats to say that you wont find a deserted area of forrest land and walk to either country and then find your way to a major road

Jason NYC

duhhh, illegal alien mean anything to you?

(I suspect that is why there is the big uproar about the US/Mexico border)

You can cross the lakes at any point in a boat. All the roads have some kind of checkstop, even the little roads out west. But yes, there is nothing stopping you from hoofing it.

The big reason they give is so US border guards are only given one form of identification to check. This sucks, crossing from Germany to France or anywhere in Europe proper doesn't even require you to slow the car anymore, even with Germans invading on a regular basis.

If you don't have a passport you are suppose to have a copy of your birth certificate and state ID.

Just remember to walk backwards when you cross the border in the middle of nowhere, that way it looks like your going the other way on their cameras.
