New Honda Accord 240HP
#1
Before you all go hating, read on: So im reading the new Car & Driver that just came today in the mail. hm 2003 Honda Accord 240 hp, VOICE ACTIVATED DVD navigation system ( with male or female voice to tell you where to go- how nice ), 240hp@6250 rpm, with a 6800 redline, 212 ft lbs torque@5000 rpm. All the bells and whistles- $28,000. ******* Mazda is a day late and a dollar short again, what do they have that will compete with this car? A sub-$30,000 RX-8?? Why the hell cant Mazda stay competitive, and keep the RX-8 UNDER $30,000?????? The technology is there with the Honda too, that new V-tec engine has NO EXAUST MANIFOLDS, so you turbo guys are saying "well that sucks, you cant turbo it", who cares- its a everyday car, its cheap for what it has too. Too bad its a Honda and not a Mazda though

yeah, Mazda has some special edition Miata with no A/c and **** like that, and its more money, and lets not forget the shitty 170hp horrendous torque steered MazdaSpeed Protege ( built by Reeves Callaway of all people, a AMERICAN CAR tuner ). Where the **** is the ZOOM ZOOM?? The most impressive thing they have going for them is the 200Hp mini van, and the 215 Hp Mazda 6 for around $21,000, but the "flagship" Mazda RX-8, ONLY has 250hp, it would be fine if the car was like $27,000. The competition is hard now, the new 350Z, and lets not forget the Lancer Evo is here, my $30,000 would go to buy that car, all wheel drive, and PLENTY of room for modifications, ******* thing will probably be cheaper then the RX-8, so who is going to buy the RX-8? Probably NO ONE, now if they bring a turbo version soon, but even then, it will not be all wheel drive.

Well the last 13B N/A had 160 HP? and the last Turbo based on that design had 240 HP? 150% increase
The new RX8 has 250 HP N/A so it should have 375 Turbo'd HP?
I don't think Honda can compete with that...
Besides Mazda still has the 20B for a luxury car, Mazda needs Rotary sales so they don't kill the Rotary Engine we all love.
