I found out exactly why we lost our venue for Autocross and its a doozy.

It seems a couple of 1st timer Autocrossers came out to the Saturday practice day. They returned again that evening after everyone was gone.

They stole a bunch of trays from a local fast food joint and put them under their rear wheels and set their parking brake. (Yes, they were FWD cars) They proceeded to tear the place up dragging the trays around and "drifting" their FWD cars. When they wore out the tray they put new ones.

This place was a police training facility inside a college campus. Its in a remote section of the campus. Security noticed something was going on and headed over to chase them out. Police were called out.

When they saw how bad the place was tore up with melted plastic and the fact that the SCCA event had attracted these kids there. (I think they had their numbers on the side windows of their cars in shoe polish still) They decided to kick the SCCA out.

So these guys were not true drifters they were posers.

But I ask, how old do you think they were? It was assumed by another board member that it was kids and we were all attacked by a 18 y/o drifter upset that kids are automatically blamed for everything.

Do you think a 25 year old man or 30 year old man would rish arrest for stealing from a fast food place so he could put plastic trays under his FWD cars rear wheels?

Has anyone heard of this new plastic tray drifting trend??

I don't care how old they were, there is not ******* excuse for **** like that. 10 to 120 years old we all have to follow the same rules and obey the same laws.

It's bullshit, it only takes a handful to ruin things for all of us.

I was thining more along the lines of lounge chairs. I am going to try it in my Mini.

The end result for us. (covered in another thread that was locked) Until they can find another venue. I have to drive 3 hours to Autocross.

I've seen the tray thing done before. It's certainly a shitty way to lose your AutoX.
