I've been beating this idea around for a while and finally decided to make the switch. There are a lot of advantages to going with the classifieds system. For one it lays everything out more for selling and less for reading like the forum.



All ads will now expire after 30 days, unless the person logs in and "renews" the add. All ads in the classifieds section are free. The reason for this is obvious if you look through the for sale forums. Ads that are 2 years old are dug up and replied to, this will be eliminated under the new system. The other advantage is the person doesn't just post the ad and forget to check up on it. The notifications system will send the advertiser and email and let them know someone has a question.



It also gives me the ability to add new categories easily as necessary.



The ads allow for photos and photo highlight from the view listing as well as inline question and answer and notifications of questions.



The plan is to, over the next few weeks disable new posts in the current classifieds section so that users will post ads in the new classifieds system.



Hopefully every one finds the new system more easy to deal with and find what you are looking for.



The best news is we can finally require a location for items listed!! these has been a headache for some time.

I'll add things in like, year, generation, etc... to the Cars For Sale Section. If there's any info like that you think would be handy to know about an item let me know. We can prompt questions out of the user that commonly come up and help prospective buyers without having to wait for questions to be answered.
