You know my answer. I love my Mini I never in my dreams would have thought I would like a FWD car and have fun w/ it.

When I drive nice (which is hard to do in this car) I get 30+ MPG with it.

I have 7K hard miles on it and not a single problem either. Another plus is the fact that Mini does my oil changes for free for 36K miles.

mini's are really that cool ? huh... im gonna have to go out and drive one now, you have me really curious.. how do they handle.. is the road noise bad ?

i drove the mazda 6, and i liked it, but for the kind i wanted it was easily 25 grand, and if i got one with leather... the premium model was like 27.. i thought was high.. i can get the new accord ex for 22, loaded with a sunroof..

keep in mind the budget is $22,000.

The only reason VW has a bad reliability rating is because of the window regulator clips and the coil packs. Both of which are under warrany and have yet to fail me on either of my VW's. I have an '03 Jetta 1.8T and an '04 GTI 1.8T, both of which are awesome cars. 28 mpg combined (city/hwy), we got around 31 on the way to Florida in the Jetta this last March. Overall, very good cars.

Edit: Fiske-The R32 is not a GTI. It is a completely different car. 3.2L VR6, 4Motion, 6-speed.

yeah. well i honestly don't think i want a vw. i really like the gti, and i understand that they may have only had those two problems, but we only have one vw dealer near my house, and they are a shitty dealer.

i am leaning towards imported cars like nissan, honda, mazda (if you call that an import anymore), toyota etc.. not hyndai or kia

The mini is some sweet ****, I drove it a bit when I was there, definetely a car that drives better then the price would indicate.

The R32 is closer to $32K...I guess over his spending limit

I'd also go for the srt-4. Thats one car I'd beat the hell out of...and not feel bad about it. Quick, new, reliable.
