Seems the site has been a little slow, or even inaccessible some today. I wasn't able to log on this morning, howver I IM'd several people only to find out it was something funky on my end.

After calling the data center where the providesite servers are monitored and maintained I was told that Time Warner lost some portion of their network today, or rather had planned on being one portion down and another online to replace it simotaneously, which did not happen, so we have been effected by this as one of the gigabit connections we share is on the Time Warner network. Hopefully things will be back to normal this evening.... hopefully.

I have actually been unable to access several sites today, kinda sucks, some people are routed through the time warner gigabit, I am running through the verio connection right now(to the server) no issues, nice and fast.

It was very strange, i am calling them and they are saying that the server is up and accessible, then why the hell can't I access it.

Finally I started IM'ing people to see if they had access.

I gotta lot of people on the IM list so I got a pretty survey going

OK here is the scoop, we are 5 Gigabit connections, one OC3, one DS3 and there is one GigE link waiting to come online sometime this month (all shared). One of the gigabit connections is a time warner connection, it's all jacked although supposed to be up soon.

When you hit the providesite servers, it takes the path of least resistance... sooo, if your path or least resistance is through the time warner network, you get screwed.

Make sense?
