you guys are copying DVDs?

who ? what? when? NO ROB, I do not copy my dvd's from netflix, that would be illegal. I only copy the dvd's I own, so I have a backup incase a tornado hits my house and destroys my originals https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

how does it come out and can they be played on any player?

The art of dvd copying is a tricky one.

First the software.... dvd x-copy is the easiest one to use. It does flash a 5 sec screen at the beginning of the movie, warning it's a copy, so if you want to try and bootleg, that is not the way to go.

In that case you would have to use software such as DVD decrypter, or DVD shrink.



Next is the media. there is +R and -R blank dvd's. Some recorders can only record on 1 or the other, some can record on both.



Now the tricky part. If you want to play a copy DVD in your computer, allmost any media brand or style (+ or - R) will work. HOWEVER, ,,,

not all dvd-r media will play in home dvd players. It gets real tricky. Some brand dvd's will work in one player, and not the other.



Some of the cheapest dvd players like the APEX will play anything you throw in it!!!!
