how does the online thing work? do I already have to have an account with some provider?

 

i got comcast, so for me it was a matter of pluging it in, go through an auto detect set up and signing up for an EA account.



i believe it is actually a modem so if u dont have an ISP you can sign up through it. also it comes with an offer from aol.

 

Correct, but AOL sucks a 19" ****, so don't anybody use that ****. If you have broadband, it's a snap to do.

so, it has to go through a cable? and you can't just have comcast cable, you have to have comcast broadband, right? these may sound like dumb questions, but I'm just making sure.

 

You have to have a broadband internet connection.



the adapter has a 56k port on it too but i dot know if nfs:u is broadband only.
