I HATE, HATE, HATE............... did I mention HATE apartment complexes, dont people rent out one floor of thier houses there? I always rented apartments that were in a house. I moved out when I was 17.

how long have you been with the girl?
i suggest taking a few days off to sit at home and watch court shows on tv (judge judy, etc) and notice how many of the cases are based on rent disagreements between former friends/ lovers.

Avoid renting if you can.
May not be able to afford a House, but how about a condo/townhouse?
Sometimes the difference between buying a Townhouse and Renting a bigger apartment is very small financially, yet with Rentals (As you know...) you don't get any of that money back!
I'm glad I can stay at home until I'm ready/able to purchase something, which should be sooner than later...

Shane- I have been with her since October last year. Not very long, but long enough to get a place of our own.
I looked into a townhouse, but they can get very expensive in my area, I would be better off getting a small 2 bed, 1 bath place with a garage and my own yard. They run the same prices believe it or not.

I like my apartment
790 square feet, attached storage, covered parking (no hail damage, but I want a garage)
$374 a month. Not too ghetto; I live like half a mile from 94t and Apneablue...now those ballers keep it reals, yo.
