Who has a good beer can chicken recipe? I need one asap. I want something with a lot of flavor, I'm a southern boy and bland food just doesn't go over very well with me, or anyone else in this household.

Thanks!

also, how long do you usually cook it? This is the first attempt at this for me, but It was a request.

Easy, man, a couple tablespoons of vegetable oil, a 16oz can of beer (one that you would actually drink), and a spicy dry rub, you're set!

Drink half of the beer, throw away the neck and giblets, brush the carcass with vegetable oil and apply a dry rub, then mount the chicken on the can a balance the thing on the grill over indirect fire for at least an hour and 15 for a 4-5 lb chicken. The internal temp of the breast should be 170 degrees when the bird is done. And oh yeah, the beer will be really hot, be careful!

No problem. I like the following rub too, maybe give it a try

1 Tablespoon Cracked Black Pepper

1 Tablespoon Granulated Garlic

1 Tablespoon Onion Powder

1 Tablespoon Kosher Salt

2 teaspoons Dried Thyme

2 teaspoons Dried Oregano

1 teaspoon Cayenne

1 teaspoon Paprika

You can add or leave out any spices you don't like, rubs can make old boring meals different by adding some new flavors into the mix.

It ended up being too late to start tonight. I'm gonna do it tomorrow. I guess its better that way anyway, I'll have time to gather everything I need instead of just using what i have.

Thanks 89 rag, I'll post a review when I get it done... lol..

You should try tur-duck-en Its a hen inside a duck inside a turkey. Seasoned on all 3 layers. Its great stuff, but I have no idea how to make it. My aunt does it.
