Who has a good beer can chicken recipe? I need one asap. I want something with a lot of flavor, I'm a southern boy and bland food just doesn't go over very well with me, or anyone else in this household.
Thanks! also, how long do you usually cook it? This is the first attempt at this for me, but It was a request. |
Easy, man, a couple tablespoons of vegetable oil, a 16oz can of beer (one that you would actually drink), and a spicy dry rub, you're set!
Drink half of the beer, throw away the neck and giblets, brush the carcass with vegetable oil and apply a dry rub, then mount the chicken on the can a balance the thing on the grill over indirect fire for at least an hour and 15 for a 4-5 lb chicken. The internal temp of the breast should be 170 degrees when the bird is done. And oh yeah, the beer will be really hot, be careful! |
sounds good. thanks.

No problem. I like the following rub too, maybe give it a try
1 Tablespoon Cracked Black Pepper 1 Tablespoon Granulated Garlic 1 Tablespoon Onion Powder 1 Tablespoon Kosher Salt 2 teaspoons Dried Thyme 2 teaspoons Dried Oregano 1 teaspoon Cayenne 1 teaspoon Paprika You can add or leave out any spices you don't like, rubs can make old boring meals different by adding some new flavors into the mix. |
AND WHEN WE COME BACK, ANOTHER NOTCH!!

It ended up being too late to start tonight. I'm gonna do it tomorrow. I guess its better that way anyway, I'll have time to gather everything I need instead of just using what i have.
I think I was born with oversized arteries. I have like 1/2 inch fuel line for vessles. I just swallow some carb cleaner every now and then and flush the gunk out. ahh the benifits of living in the south. Heat and clogged arteries. But damn is the food good. |
The brew keeps the inside of the chicken moist and tender, beer butt chicken rocks so hard! I need to start writing down some of my creatations.
last night: 2lbs ground chuck season with black pepper, sea salt, and bourbon make into 4 patties, grill (I like medium well to well for these) Cook a sliced videlia onion and some sliced mushrooms in beer till the onion slices are soft, then drain what beer is left in crumble in some pepper jack cheese and melt it all together. Put the hamburgers on wheat buns (I just put mayo on it) and put the cheese mix on top of the patty, close the bun, enjoy. damn was it good. I could eat it every day. |
