I have a few questions

- What are the odds of a police officer showing up to court for "illegal squelling of tires?"

-Can I pospone a court date without a lawyer?

-If I can pospone, how many times can I?

-How can I tell if the officer shows up to court?

-If he doesn't show can I plead innocent or must i decide before hand?

It's a stupid ticket and I want to get out of it without a lawyer, if possible. Any info on this subject will help.

um in california you can postpone once. you go to a thing where you plead guilty or innocent. if you say guilty they charge you a fine, and tell you never to to that again. if you say innocent you go to trial, thats the one the police officer is or isnt supposed to show up too.

I imagine it would depend a lot from state to state, you can't bank on the officer not showing up, you would need to have an alternative defense, you have to shoose your plea on the back of the ticket in washington, so yes you have to choose. Even if you have a lawyer, you can't ask for a continuence on the grounds that the officer actually showed LOL

Depending on the ticket cost I would get a lawyer, I get a lawyer for all my tickets, I would rather buy him the new BMW then the cops more radar guns.

I am under supervision from a previous ticket and have another one on my record. It says "NO court appearance required" on the ticket. Will I loose my liscence if I just pay the fine? A lawyer will cost me $150 minimum the ticket is $75. I want to spend the least amount of money possible and still be able to drive. Insurance is no biggy b/c I go to college in 3 months so I won't be driving for a while.

i'm pretty sure simply paying the fine is a guilty plea, and it will go on your record. so if you exceed the limit it will result in a suspension.

IL sucks. I just got my license back from a 6 month suspension, thats the second suspension I've had. I've never been in an accident, just stupid speeding tickets.

It was raining and I drifted. I didn't do a burn out.
