What's a good, inexpensive acoustic guitar for me to learn on?
So far I'm looking at Washburn, Fender Squier, and Ibanez. Your opinions on those brands and others would be appreciated. |

Washburns are nice, I had two P-2's. My ibanez 6 acoustic is still one of my favorites also. But I am not a big fan of their electrics. I had a few and never much liked em. I would stick to the Fenders. They have nice wide fret boards and the action is always good on Fenders even the cheap Mexican made ones. I would get a Squire Strat or Tele.
You would really like the sound of a Jag or old mustang if you can find one. Also make sure to play some Gibsons also, they are nice also. |
There is also Martin (great, but expensive). I personally like the Ibanez. (Squier is the made in China version of Fender)

I messed with a '74 Strat a couple weeks ago, but they're a little out of my price range until I decide I'm going to get serious. I don't want to spend a lot now and let it sit in a closet collecting dust. If I'm still playing a lot in a year I'll get something nicer.

humm...
i have a gibson les paul custom lite and a fender delux american i love them both i used to have an ibanex, bbut as dave said they do suck pretty bad. i did like the neck, nice and flat. |
so for acoustic i would look at the cheeper fenders. Even if they arent american made the quality is always pretty good.
