If we do keep this computer, I'm also considering buying a second hard drive to back up everything. I'm afraid to save anything, after having this thing die 2 times already. Is that a bad idea???

For our wedding, I told my wife (well, she wasn't my wife at the time) we should get organized, and she should get familiar with MS Excel. So she made a spreadsheet of all the guests, a column for if we called them, a column for if we sent them an invite, RSVP, phone numbers, addresses, the gift they gave us....

THEN THE DAMNED THING CRASHED! needless to say, all our guests were pissed that they never got thank you notes for all their expensive gifts.

That's a shame.

A Mac wouldn't have put you in that position. They're just so intuitive to use and so stable.

that's the only product advertising that really made me want to buy it.

you know, where the girl is describing how she lost the paper she was writing, and had to write it again, and all those other folks saying how their other computer screwed up, and how they were happy with the mac...

then they had the one where the guy said his camera worked the first time he plugged it in....sounds nice, even though I'd have to learn how to use a computer all over again...of course, with new stuff constantly coming out, I gotta learn everything anyway

Hmm.. I have a sony viao, and the only problem *I* do get is whenever my parents log on their login, and use their login ...it crashes, but if I use my login, it doesn't crash. Also, it appears to eat up memory like a bat, and when they use the computer, then I sign off, and use my login, it goes REALLY slow... even though there's helluva memory.

But anyway, that's the only problems I have seen with mine, Otherwise, it's been good. I've owned it for a year and 4months and 5 days

Windows ME is horrible, that release of windows has never worked right for anything. Not saying any windows is really great, but ME really takes the cake in the realm of unstable piece of ****.

If you do anything, make sure it involves replacing ME with something else.
