Need Advice On New Beater

Well my mini-van is about to die and it's time for a new beater. I have under 5k to spend and i'm having trouble picking a new beater. It must be front wheel drive or all wheel drive, get good gas milage, and be a manual. Other than that it's all fare game. so far i was looking at acura integra GSR's as my 1'st choice and honda civics ( which i really dont want to get ) any one have any ideas on a good beater. i want something half decent that will still handel and perform as well. Well let me know what you think.

yeah but the integra doesnt carry the " of look another ******* civic " type look they are deff better than a civic. I dont want a VW cause i dont know german cars and i want something i can tune. and yeah it's goin to be the DD.
