Whats your view? Would it help? Or, should we encourage the private sector to take on this role?

Your government spends more per capita on health care than ours, yet we have free health care and you don't. Something stinks there.

What sucks about free healtcare is whiners will goto the emergency room for stupid ****..

"Oh my poo was a little bit light brown and I thought I should come here."

After all it's free..

If they had to pay to be in the emergency room, I don't think they would be there..

whats worse is that in this country if you get really sick or need to go to the ER and you have bad/no insurance you end up dead, fucked, or broke.

Does the fact that they have 20 times the population that we have have any bearing on what you just said?

Just curious, per capita = per person?

Yes foo, and it's 10 times the population.

I know what Colin's talking about. Nothing like sitting in the waiting room for three hours with someone that's in a lot of pain or a baby with a fever of 102, only to see some drunken moron who got in a fight get taken right in because you can see a bit of blood.

Again we see that Americans are whiney, helpless bastards (See my post in the Bush vs. Kerry poll for background). For example, Germany has a national healthcare system....in fact about HALF of every Germans' paycheck goes to taxes to support such systems. However EVERYBODY has healthcare, and the system isn't flooded, because the doctors don't take **** from whiners and people don't eat hamburgers three times a day there. I am TOTALLY against big, intrusive government - but a good national healthcare system only makes sense if you are really interested in the wellbeing of your citizens. I'm not sure that the US will be able to overcome the greed and laziness of doctors and patients respectively to be able to put a program in place though...which means it's left to the privateers and all the less fortunate are fucked. Hoooray! At least we have Wal-Mart and no "mom and pop" stores that cater to community and personalized service! Woohoo! (Can you hear the sarcasm?). I really hope that something happens to change our great country....
