If you are scared of driving in the snow, stay home.

Why would you not properly prepare you vehicle for winter? Would you walk 2 kms outside without a winter jacket, and gloves?

Why can't you spend the 5 minutes and properly remove the snow from your car/minivan/SUV before you headed out? That 12" x 12" square on your windsheild isn't going to help you when you need to change lanes, read street signs, and make left and rigth turns.

If you can't reach the roof of your vehicle to clear the ice and snow off of it so it doesn't come flying off and hit other cars on the highway, why the hell did you buy such a big vehicle?

If you know it is slippery and your bald all seasons on your minivan isn't so great at accelerating why do you still insit to make a left turn with 5 cars going 55 km/h north on britannia road when you know you can't get out of the intersection in time (I do not want to be stuck behind you when the other unfortunate driver infront of me runs into your automatic slidding rear door and nearly tips your f'ing minivan at 55 km/h.

Why don't you have your lights on? Don't you want to be seen to other drivers when the visability is poor?

Why do you dive into the right turn lane, or left turn lane or onramp/offramp when it is snowing so bad and braking distances have trippled? It's not like you haven't driven to work before and don't know you way.

i saw some bad drivers last night. WE got over 7 inches yesterday. I was at school, and it is a comuter school in the city and I was unable to leave school for 4 hours. It took me 40 min to get from the 3rd floor of a parking garage to the 1st. I was running low on gas so i just parked my car a waited. People just kept on crashing into each other and causing more problems. They made me 3 hours late for work. I hate snow.

Put 99% of people behind the wheel of a car, and they get aggressive, selfish, and inconsiderate. Naturally, I'm in the 1% of people who don't. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR

If it snowed like that here, and people were driving, the population would drop considerably. Any time it rains we have a bunch of wrecks, I couldn't imagine snow.

Yeah, I don't get it.

donhayes 12-09-2005 10:14 AM

THis is were i was born. Hopefully when i'm commisioned i'll get stationed somewhere warm. Thats my hope anyways.

phinsup 12-09-2005 10:32 AM

i always assumed places that got a lot of snow had drivers that were more apt to deal with the weather. It was the same way in Seattle, it didn't snow that much or that often, but when it did the accidents would shut down the freeway and everything else.

donhayes 12-09-2005 10:44 AM

People just can't drive or realize that they have to slow down earlier in snow. 4wd only helps with control and accerleration in snow.

rowtareh 12-09-2005 11:11 AM

Haha, funny you should mention that. I just saw some Honda with snow covering the entire vehicle except for the drivers half of the windshield. I just came back from the little mart down the road. Real ******* smart dumbass.

And I usually don't clean all of the snow off of the top of the Jeep, simply because I am too lazy, and you should not be that close to another vehicle in this kind of weather anyways.

when you going to get another rotary powered car? VISA, Mastercard, discovery, and amex wants to know. They need to help america stave off a minor recession.

nismo convert 12-09-2005 01:19 PM

Snow is awesome, had the sled out, man I have missed that thing, really takes the bite off having to write exams.

R.P.M. 12-09-2005 09:13 PM

HAHA, yeah snow really sucks.

My daily grind is driving a truck all over the place and its insane how many people were in the ditch or stuck the first good snowfall!!!

I've already ditched the truck once this year.....hopefully no more!!

donhayes 12-09-2005 11:59 PM

i rode with my friend to work today. Well it seems that i would have been safer driving myself. He was trying to show off his fishtailing skills in his neighborhood and got stuck in a ditch. So i had to get my tow strap and pull him out.

lxk199 12-10-2005 09:27 AM

Christ, I don't understand howpeople with these 4WD vehicles can crash so damn much! Like yesterday on my way to work in the SHO, I was driving normally, and there were like 2 or 4 SUV's and trucks in ditches on the side of the road, and I was just puttin' along no problems whatsoever. Also, the no lights thing really bugs me! Around here (PA), nobody turns their lights on, whether it be raining or snowing. Hell, you'll see people driving around late at night with just parking lights on, and it's not like I live in a city or anything! For Christ's sake, I live in Amish country! Idiots.

Dave 88 A.E 12-11-2005 11:32 AM

So people in canada don't know how to drive in the snow?

It is the same here the news calls for like 5 inches of snow and everyone thinks it's a ******* blizzard. Back in 94 and 96 we had storms that dropped like 4 feet you would think people from around here would be used to it.

I love driving in the snow, especially if it is later in the night and no one is out, I just throw the truck in 2 wheel and **** around.

The people in the suv's that are off to the side are the ones who thing the thing is a ******* tank and can't slide on ice.

teknics 12-11-2005 04:01 PM

i dont understand why so many people have to go out when its snowing anyway. i was driving at 5:30am during the recent storm which dropped 8 inches on my area...5:30am and people were all over on the road. i was like what the ****? Then at the shop tons of people were coming in to get their cars worked on while its still snowing....i was like "theres 5 inches of snow on the ground and its still snowing and you want your coolant changed? GO HOME"

seriously, especially in america, people are so "i have to do this, and this and this otherwise ill get off my schedule" that they'll take their lives in their own hands to get it done. ******* morons.

I'll gladly trudge along in my huge, ugly ass suburban doing like 35mph (in a like 30-35mph zone) and laugh at all the dumbass stranded cause they just needed to do 50 in the snow since they have 4x4 then realize that their brakes dont do **** on snow and ice.

kevin.
