So, how's that work when you're on wind power? Doesn't it create a lot of drag under the water, even if in neutral? (or whatever the nautical equivalent of neutral is)

It creates some drag, which of course is the advantage to the old prop which was feathering, but not enough to make any noticable difference, like prolly half a knot worst case. U don't neutral btw, you lock it in gear when sailing. my boat differs in a large way from many sailboats as it motors as fast as it sails, i can outrun most the trawlers when under motor power. Anyhow, you try to account for things like drag and weight with increased sail area, it's 22 ton boat so it takes some sail and a good breeze to move her
