So yeah... I just got back into the states about 2 weeks ago. Since then I've been working on a project. A rockin' project. I'll give you the low down.
about 5 months ago, the day before I left the states I bought another honda passport c70 scooter for 600 dollars. It was running, pretty decent shape, but most importantly titled. I had just sold my rx7 and knew when I got back I would need something to do until I left again. Welllll.... sure enough... here I am back at home and working on my scooter.
So I tore down the engine and rebuilt the entire thing with a 88cc piston/cylinder, bigger ball bearing race camshaft with higher lift and more duration, ported new style head, +6mm bigger carb/intake and a custom nitrous kit.
The body was stripped down, rust was wire wheeled, sanded and primered. A coat of yellow was used as an undercoating to create a more vibrant red. I dont ever do body work, so this painting stuff is new to me. Luckily I have a friend that owns a body shop and he helps me not **** up so much.
Its been 2 weeks and Ive mostly been waiting on parts... but here is what I have so far. ETA: next week

Here is the bike as it sat before I started anything. As you can tell its not the prettiest.
David thought he would come join the fun and poke fun at my ugly bike with his pristine 81 c70 deluxe. dick.
My friend Justin and I start the tearing the bike down.
The previous owner must put a piece of black vynal over the seat... for a good reason. That seats pretty haggard.
We flipped the bike upside down before draining the oil. BAD idea. We had oil start spilling all over the floor... woops.
So we put the oil catch under the bike, ripped the engine off in record time and threw it outside. Stupid *** engine.
Then we took the bike to the yard for a super high powered pressure bath.
The next day, after a week of searching, Justin found a none running 81 deluxe c70 on craigs list. He was totally jealous of my sweet hog.
Within minutes of getting the bike back home David came over and they got it running while I finished cleaning. The guy he bought it from said he tried EVERYTHING to get it to start... obviously he didnt check the piston rings that were compressed and carbon locked into the piston. A little wd-40 and a rag and the scooter fired right up.
Bike was looking pretty bare and almost ready for paint! I was trying to figure out how to get the damn underside of the handle bars off ... weak.

Jessica was there and she wanted to help do some cleaning. She was able to get off really well!
Here it sits with the handle bars off and the stickers gone. One step closer to being done.
Bike all rust-proofed and ready for paint. I started painting all the other parts that day too.
MY ENGINE PARTS CAME! yaaay! Check out that sexy high compression 88cc piston!
A sexy new large cylinder... making the engine look a lot prettier too.
Heres the engine all mocked up. Nothing is tightend down yet ... I'm waiting for my friend to bring me some new parts for the head. Looks good though! Im excited! You should be too!
Ooooo I got the base coat of yellow and one coat of red on today! Its turning out nicely! Tomorrow It will get 4 more coats of red and a couple coats of clear then some wetsanding and another clear coat! I hope it turns out shiny
Just picturing it with the gas tank in and the knee guard on ... I still need to clean up and paint the knee guard (or buy a new one from chinamongolasia)
And here are some parts waiting for their clear coats.
So far, Its turning out nicely and Im only in about 350 bucks... 250 of that being the engine and carb parts.
Its fun and cheap! I like it!
