So I'm driving along and the alternator light comes on. OK fine it's done this before, I stop the car turn it off turn it back on and it's off for a bit. Then it goes back on. Fine needs an alternator, a pain but not the end of the world.



So I go to check under the hood and there's no serpentine belt, it's gone.



Yet I was only getting the alternator light sporadically.



My car is possesed. It's drawing electricty from the force or something like that.

 

your first problem - you have a neon

 

i had that happen in a pos audi once, it went whump whump and then the battery light came on.... it made it home

 

Your water pump is probably shot.
