So i've been jumping through hoops for this USPS job, I was "tenatively" hired pending medical and background check, i passed the background check and next is the medical..... ******* AWESOME, so I do this medica thing and they come up with my kidney and high blood pressure situation......... keep in mind it is a recognized disability AND if/when i do need dialysis or a transplant medicare will pay for all of it regardless of my age, so either way they are paying for it, but NO they would rather me not work and apparently apply for disability? ******* joke oh well at least i dont have to worry about getting a right hand drive car i guess.

Wouldn't they encourage you to sue any private corporation that refuses to hire you for potential future health reasons?

Yes, the best part is, if they hire me or not THEY STILL PAY. Theoretically i can hire a lawyer and apply for disability if i want. Why u have to have a physical and medical history to deliver pieces of paper to people i dont know, a ******* monkey could do it.

That is pretty fucked. The most physical part of that job is loading the bins into your vehicle. And they weight in excess of what? 75-100 pounds, which is clearly stated on the job app.

But not to pry into your private life, but did'nt you donate one of your kidneys to your dad? You could possibly get away with it that matter, if you really wanted the job?

actually its not as uncommon as you would think, 1 in 500 people is born with only one kidney... or sometimes a horseshoe kidney which is two fused together. Most people go through life never even knowing they only have one and never having any issues as you can live on about 30% usage with no issues. unfortunately i have a kidney disease to go along with my lack of secondary kidney (port side).

reality/common sense vs printed regulations...

guess which one outs?

not really fair, so i guess you play their game and go for the max $ that they will give you. you are really working for the govt either way, and you might as well have the job that gives you free time to play.

(not being able to work and be productive when you know that you can do it sucks)

i know plenty of people passed over for promotion/not hired, etc due to underlying kidney problems, but it is done quietly and wihtout mention so the companies get away with it.

Ahhh, I see now. It's still fucked up that they don't let you work. As long as it does not conflict with the work you are doing, then what's the big ******* deal?
