My First Bike
#1
So I'm gonna be picking up my first bike soon, ridden bikes before never owned one tho.
It's a 93 Yamaha Vmax, hopefully some of you have heard of them...maybe someone owns one? Anywho getting it for a good price, only has around 16k on it and has been taken pretty good care of. It's a v-4 1.2L, 146hp, 78ft-lbs. fits into my late 80's early 90's style that I have going on lol.
only pic of a similar bike I could find online:

I went in the dealership to buy one of those when they were new, ended up getting talked into a ZX-11.
I LOVE the sound of those bikes, I heard one at a light that sounded like a ******* drag car with its lopey v8 sounding idle and
was hooked.

Very nice. The V-4's are really trick. Post some pics when you get it!
I was looking into getting an older Honda Magna for my first bike, then I came to my senses. I didn't need another project like that, and being a new rider I wouldn't want that kind of power or weight. I ended getting a good deal on a '92 Yamaha Seca II. It's done very good for a first bike and I've been lucky enough to not have any accidents with it. It was a pretty neat learning experience. For the first couple weeks or so, the 600cc's scared the you-know-what outta me. Now its just good old fun! Once I get around to taking the MC license test I'll probably sell the Seca II and move up a rung or two on the power ladder, someday.
Be safe with your new ride... Cars are your mortal enemy and they hate your motorcycle, not to mention the often stupefied people behind the wheel. I've almost thought about going into road rage over all the people around here blowing stops and not knowing how to use their blinkers (HELLOOOO?!...ever tried to figure out what that there extra lever does?), and the damn litter all over the sides of the road...
Sorry for the rant.
