These were taken right before i got ready to work on it, they're bout two weeks old. As you can tell its kinda a project, only prob rlly is the motor. I'll get some better ones of the interior/motor(as is now):

1Revvin7 11-08-2002 05:53 PM

cool, so whats wrong with the motor?

Race_87RX7 11-08-2002 05:55 PM

Think its the apex seals, it had this prob where we had to pull the fuel injection fuse and try and start then put the fuse back in for it to start cuz it got flooded, now it jus don't start.

Racer X 11-08-2002 05:57 PM

Looks good other than those ugly ass phone dial rims.

have your fuel injectors proffessionally cleaned. They are leaking/stuck.

Race_87RX7 11-08-2002 06:01 PM

Hmm i'll have to look at that, my dad knows more bout it then me, he said its apex's but i never asked why, i think he may have said it had low compression.

Bad apexs will give low compression.Have you compression checked it?

Race_87RX7 11-08-2002 06:04 PM

He may have, he'll be home ina few and i'll ask.

Racer X 11-08-2002 06:07 PM

Another thing to do if its been sitting a while is to check the condition of your plugs, wires, cap and rotor too.You need alot of spark too get it running.

Its been sitting upwards of three years sadly enough. He just got home i'll post what he says ina few.

Geoffman72 11-08-2002 06:18 PM

You have a front mount on that? I was just noticing the NA hood.

Thanks for pointing that out.He better have a FMIC because that can't be a turboII otherwise. The intercooler would hit the hood.

dunno heres a front-side pic. My dig cam was being a biatch that day so i'll get some nice ones tommorow.

Race_87RX7 11-08-2002 06:26 PM

dunno i jus know what my dad told me, he said it was a TII

Geoffman72 11-08-2002 06:29 PM

Grab some pics of the engine bay too. We'll know for sure then.

Don't be disheartened if its not though, NAs can be just as fun https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Race_87RX7 11-08-2002 06:31 PM

Whats NA stand for anyway (not available?). Yea i will, don't mind the beat looking engine its been a while since it ran, it looks whitish lol.

Racer X 11-08-2002 06:32 PM

You might want to look at the engine and see if you can find a snail strapped to it.It really looks like a NA one.

Race_87RX7 11-08-2002 06:34 PM

o haha yer funny lol. It doesn't have a turbo i know that much.

Well if it doesn't have a Turbo then its not a TurboII its a reliable NA. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

time to fix ma siggy :P

At least it'll be reliable.Thats why I did a NA swap on this FB.Yours is the 146hp model.Decent power. You can always buy a bonez race pipe and gain some hp there. Then put a aftermarket exhaust on it.Then add a header. Those 3 alone produce good Hp gains. Not to mention rotaries are loud once the flow is opened on them.

Racer X 11-08-2002 06:44 PM

You can hook up a nice 65 shot of NOS thru it with a nice Street Port. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Then you'll haul ass.

Race_87RX7 11-08-2002 06:44 PM

So basically its better because of reliability? I can live with that, i plan to get a turbo for it tho.

Race_87RX7 11-08-2002 06:45 PM

ah ur in the same boat i was, i have always wanted a turbo, now its my time to shine, even though everyone said BS U WILL NEVER GET IT, whos almost there?

Race_87RX7 11-08-2002 06:49 PM

LOL, i know someone who might hook me up with a turbo for round 250.00 if he doens't sell it by christmas

It is a cheaper way out tho. There are some people on here who are doing the conversion. You might want to buy a turboII engine tho. They have lower compression so it can take more boost.1Revvin is the guy to talk to about NA to turbo swap.

Race_87RX7 11-08-2002 06:51 PM

i can't afford another motor, i was thinking bout buying one my dad saw for 500.00 when i get the money, i currently have 13.00 in my wallet heh.

Racer X 11-08-2002 06:51 PM

If your going turbo next year anyways now is the time to look at a exhaust when it's running.Rotaries make big power off a exhaust swap. :yum:

Racer X 11-08-2002 06:52 PM

I remember when I bought this one last winter all stock on a Pizza delivery guys salary. Those were broke times. My exhaust took 3 months to get. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

Race_87RX7 11-08-2002 06:54 PM

ouch, my goals is to have a driveable RX7 by jan 1st.

Racer X 11-08-2002 06:57 PM

Just remember for hp gains Exhaust is the first place to start.Prolly the cheapest bang for buck hp too.

Race_87RX7 11-08-2002 06:59 PM

i kinda like the idea of straight pipe exhause, my dads got it on his vette, whats your thoughts on that?

Racer X 11-08-2002 07:02 PM

Super loud. You should have a muffler on it.If you put a race pipe where your cats are(3 of them)You'll gain mega hp from that too.If you don't have emissions that is.Keep the cats in case tho.Your car will shoot flames without cats and a straight thru exhaust tho.I love the looks on peoples face when I hit 7000 and let off to shoot flames. :bigok:

Race_87RX7 11-08-2002 07:06 PM

ya i want the noise haha, i don't wanna sound like everyone else with those rice burner mufflers. Any way i could gain HP from cats and keep that loud rotory scream?

Racer X 11-08-2002 07:08 PM

Rotaries never sounds like piston engines.I never heard such a pleasent sound till I ripped it all out. It's truly a note to die for.

Racer X 11-08-2002 07:08 PM

I know a guy who pulled the cats and left stock exhaust and it still sounds awesome. He said he could feel the difference

Race_87RX7 11-08-2002 07:09 PM

Yea i went to ATCO the other day and saw a RX7 run, GOD they sound cool, its orgasmic.

Racer X 11-08-2002 07:12 PM

Orgasmic for both driver and passenger(s).They roar nicely. :bigok:

Race_87RX7 11-08-2002 07:12 PM

Ok:

My dad said it stopped running cuz the fuel injectors were bleeding down and that caused em to flood out the engine and they weren't flowing like they should, now it doens't run, thoughts?
