It's too bad their are only two parties to chose from in the running...doesnt seem like much of a choice.

Have you seen the ballot? There are quite a few. Just none of them has a chance, elections are all about marketing, who has the most money.

It's insane how much a presidential candidate has to spend to be able to run for office. Even just getting into congress is a hugely expensive ordeal. Chances are you guys just can't afford to have more than two parties :P That said, it's pretty hard to not agree with phins on this one. If you wanna run, even if you're rich, you need donations. Of course these donations all seem to come with strings attached and from very wealthy corporations. It's like investing in the laws you want passed (to make business easier) and the tax cuts you want. And many corporations donate to both candidates to make sure their interests are taken care of whoever gets elected. Not terribly democratic...

We have like 5 parties who run and can compete in our election relatively fairly...but liberal/conservative/NDP are usually unbeatable.

I go to parties, sometimes until four. It's hard to leave when you can't find the door.

and how many of those parties were allowed into the debates? The powers that be pick the candidates, if the people had any say neither of the two ******** running would have been nominated for president, it is a scam, it is recipe perfected over the years, it's genius really, a handful of powerful people pick the leaders of the sheeple, but the beautiful part is the sheeple actually believe they are the one's that picked the leader. The fact that americans are not rioting in the streets and hanging these criminals is to me a total disappointment. The wealthy and corporations have raped and pillaged this once great country of it's wealth and self respect.

5 parties? You listed 3, then there's Green party and...communist party? Marijuana party (not to be confused with the green party :P)? Oh wait there's the Bloc! Totally forgot about those separatist traitors. Stupid Quebecois, giving their votes to people whose only agenda is f-ing up our country.
