Heh, that's actually pretty funny.

Anyone here think they have a car that was built on a Friday afternoon?
True for the states...but what about japan? Those bastards are used to going to school 7 days a week. They'll punch in at Mazda 1-2 hours early and spend as much overtime as they can doing the best job they can.

Colin's buddy has a Mazda Protegé with 300 000+ kilometers on it. He absolutely beats the crap out of his car and the thing doesnt consume a drop of oil.

i believe the highest recorded original miles was on a dodge, and it was over 500,000 miles.

as for over all reliability ... too many variables play into it, no way to say for sure. But i would take a honda or toyota for reliability.
I knew of a 1987 town car that the last I heard it had over 500,000 miles on it

and it was still going strong, nothing but oil changes, even had the

original transmission.

people get alot more then 500,000 out of a car these days

I'd have to say oldschool rotaries are reliable because I've been able to fix everything that has ever gone wrong with just a few tools and a small garage. That, to me, is extremely important.

When it comes to piston engines and new cars... I'd rather have an enima (that's not a new car name, as far as I know, yet ).
