Now my signal strength sucks. It bounces from low to very low to NON EXISTENT. My folks moved the router to like 5 feet to the right. I don't wanna mess with their router or nothing right now. It is being moved again to our outside "sun room" they said. Jeez, thanks, make the connection non existent all the time. This linksys **** sucks my ***. You were right phins, I should have gotten a D-Link.

Anyhow, are there any products that enable me to expand the range, and receive a stronger signal since I will need one soon.

Another question. Could I possibly get a cable modem set up in my room without having comcast come out and install a line? My signal strength will be at super high speeds. Reason I ask is cause my d/l speeds is like 4kb/s. That sucks! Better than dial up, but still sucks.

sorry for the rambling.

Thanks

Justin

Yes there are range extenders, at that point though you might as well buy a decent router.

they don't have a shitty speed. they got laptops and they can move all around with no problem cause they have the cards. I would run a wire, but I would need about 60-70 feet. my room is downstairs at the end of the house, the router is upstairs at the other end of the house. i will see what I can do real quick like. i tried moving my adapter around, but the cord for it is really short. see what happens.

no ****? i know running the wire will get me a much faster connection speed than running wirelessly. i will get the same connections they would if they were sitting next to the router.

i will give home depot a call tomorrow. do you remember how much it was a foot though?
