Part of the problem is there is only 1 or 2 good/decent songs on a CD these days. The remainder are just crappy filler songs. I would venture to say I have about 100+ CD's in my collection. I have not purchased a new CD in about 1.5 years. The cost, the quality, and RIAA has turned me off to purchasing CD's completely.
I mentioned this in the "Thursday" thread.

It's becomming few and far between to find a band passionate about their music, and for the music to actually be good at the same time.

Hence, I haven't had an urge to buy any music CD lately.

Cept Thursday's new album

Pirating/Burning CD's doesn't really hurt the artist nearly as much as the recording industry, most bands make $$$ off touring

i know not many people may be fans of eminem but thats one of the reasons his cds sell, almost every track on it is a blockbuster single eventually, except for the side skits of course, and if it isnt a huge single it's at least considered a fave by the listeners. When i listen to eminem cds i can listen through almost the whole thing without skipping a song, same thing with the 50cent album get rich or die trying.

hell thats why only a couple techno mix cds sell very well, cause most of the time there are only a few truly good/great songs on them.

An example of what? I mean time warners cable service and aol have download services, and this person was paying for the kazaa pay service. Thus why is kazaa pay company not sued for illegal music or why is the girl being sued?

The RIAA seems to be pissing off teens. Teens are rebilious, and like to do what they're not supposed to do. Also, many teens are computer literate. Therefore, many music swapping sites will pop up, considering the amount of attention free music swapping is getting.

My friend has a theory, that a virus is being spread through traded music. I think that's the only way people would stop, if the RIAA hired hackers to put viruses in traded music.

I buy CD's just because I know for a fact the quality is good, and I'm too lazy to download music, check it's quality, organize it, and burn it to CD.

As far as I know kazaa isn't a sight that has rights to the songs you can find on their. They are only charging for the service. I bet they figured if they charge people then they will think it was being downloaded legally.
