Well it's been acting crappy anyway, but this morning i was travelling down 69 (go ahead, laugh :P) doing 60, i ALWAYS speed up to make it up the hill as i lose 5-7 mph no matter what, well i lost about 5 mph from 65, and was holding the gas down trying to

get it to stay at 60 up the hill, when i am on a hill and floor it, NOTHING happens, it doesn't rev higher the speed doesn't climb nothing, UNTIL, this morning, i was holding it down trying to hold my speed and it ******* tried to die! shuddered 2-3 times, i put in the clutch, fine, downshifted to 4th, fine...so can anyone tell me wtf is going on :P it's an 89 s-10 blazer, with the FI 2.8l(CRAP) and 4wd......i also have been having problems starting it, but since it's been -10 to -20 at night i think that may be the problem...and my alternator seems to work when it wants..any help would be great..

Sean

also, i can rev it freely on level ground through all gears, no problems, in fact on my way home, being kinda pissy since i have to go to a visitation tonight i redlined ALL gears and had NO problems, even got a 2nd gear chirp (which takes A LOT of throttle, like near redline :P)

i think the motor is just old and abused and the truck is just too much weight for it, I'm in the process of looking for a 4.3l or just selling it....

well the first problem IS that 2.8. it was the worst thing ever made, even new they were waaay underpowered. I would guess that due to the age and condition of the motor it just don't have the power to climb in 5th gear.

I remember way back I had an 84 s-10 p/u with the shitty 2.0 4cyl. automatic. that thing had the same problem, I would have to floor the ****** just to keep the same speed going up a hill

is that the same 2.8 v6 mpfi they put in the other cars like fiero?

iron block / iron heads?

if so, they always have drivability issues, foul plugs, egr problems making cylinders run lean, although on the fiero it's speed/density engine management. I don't know about the blazer.
