since losing my gt4 game save data ive been going back through getting back up to my previous place in the game. im pretty much going straight through the beginner and professional levels, but if i buy a car that has a model specific race then i go do those too. what ive found is something that not many have talked about, except phins, and that is the rx8 lm car that is won in the rx8 only race in the mazda section. you can win the rx8 concept car by doing the tsukuba or whatever wet race normal (the second one on the list, the first is easy) in the special condition section. do some mods and then you can easily win the rx8 only races. then you get the rx8 lm concept and the car is very fast. i put the biggest turbo on it and it is faster than the re fd with the biggest turbo( it does have about 200 more hp). once you get that car you can use it for a lot of stuff, and when you get to the na race in pro mode just take the turbo off and you can use it there too. its also good in the second series in the special conditions races, which is the money maker series bc thats where you get the toyota raid rally car that you can sell for like $268k after only doing 2 races. just turn the brakes up when you turbo it so you can brake late.

on another point, the chaparral 2j car that is like a box on wheels sucks. i saved up the 1.2 mil to get it and then did the biggest turbo to get it up to 1120hp. i bought it in hopes to use it for the spyder and roadster races, and the american races and decimate everything but you cant use it in the roadster stuff, and it sucks in the american stuff. i guess it may have been better if i would have worked harder on the tuning but i was upset about not being able to use it and it being so hard to drive so i just sold it.

last night i tried something to see if it would get my b spec rating up, but it didnt. i left the guy driving in the rx8 lm concept at nurburgring all night while i was sleeping but even after 20 hours of driving there his skill didnt go up at all. oh well

anyone got any other tips or good cars to get?

The best roadster/convertible type car i have found is the TVR, even in the stock form the car is very managable. The LM1 RX8 is the best 8 on the board, light, great handling and easily cranks out 800+ hp, this is won in the rx8 cup.

I'm kind of getting to the point in the game where it takes serious cash to continue, done with the american races, pro, beginner, etc... figure i will polish off the model specific races and get ready to buy a 4 million dollar car.

The 350z lm car is just as nice as the rx8 lm, but carries a higher top speed in stock form. You can get this from winning the first japan championship.

when you get to the na race in pro mode just take the turbo off and you can use it there too
Where can I do this? Or do I have to go participate in a race, then remove the turbo in the settings right before the race, then go back to the n/a races??

what i did was go to the power and settings section and go to one of those courses and change the settings there bc you cant enter the na race with the turbo and then take it off, and you can take it off in the turbo races.

ok, that's what I thought. seems like a hassle.

but then again, I'm just sitting there, performing a physical task equivalent to twiddling my thumbs, so I guess it doesn't matter.

for the convertible stuff i just used a fully modded miata, wasnt all that fast but got the job done. when i did this stuff before i used the cobra for that and the american stuff, but even with a lot of tuning the cobra was still hard to control without race tires.

I used TurboVR6's hint to win that ASC Rally Car (Toyota) that's worth $265k. You can sell it for that money, then go and race the two races again (Under Special Condition, 2nd one down, 2 laps forward, 2 laps reverse is all you have to do) and get it again, and again, and again. It takes 15-20 min to get too.

Nonetheless, with that money I bought some favorite cars...first being a Black Spirit R FD. With EVERY mod done, I'm at ~611-644 HP (Depending on the oil I guess lol) and its actually FASTER and BETTER than the RE Amemiya FD.

The RE FD can only get a big turbo upgrade, and one or two other things. It supposedly has all lightened chasis mods done but it doesn't seem as light and capable as my super-modified black FD.

I bought a Ford GT and did everything to it too, it doesn't handle too great. I need to work with the suspension on that one.

I have my Black FD as my super-FR Car, a modified Black 91 (cause I only like the older model) NSX as my super-MR Car, a Black Ford GT as my American car, a Black Miata (soon to be modified) for my Convert, and soon a Black STI For my super-4wd car....

...see a trend? LOL They're all on alloy 5-spoke rims too heh.

use the rx8 lm car for your super fr car. and for my super awd car i use the subie 22b, fully modded and tuned. works perfect on the road and the dirt. you have to keep an eye on the used showroom II for that car though bc it doesnt show up too often.

Geez....what car can you use to win the Proffesional series Super GT championship? I tried all the LM cars I have(RX8, 350Z, Supra), that gay, pos, 3 speed Chapparal, and a Benz CLK GTR...the races were closer with that but I still couldn't win.
