Srce - I know what you're talking about those Polish shops. I was raised around there (my mom had a store by Milwaukee and Irving 25 years back). Not sure how I grew up not knowing Polish as English was usually a far distant second language in most places my family went. Now whenever any of us heads back to the old neighborhood we'll usually load up a cooler full of meat from this deli that my mom has been going to since the 50's with her mom.
Damnest thing, people joke about your mom and you're cool with that. But I make one remark about Jerry Springer and you get all bent? I'm not sure what to make of that. Beats me. I was never able to get in for a taping when I was up there for work a few years back. Something about a waiting list a mile long for free tickets. Hell, my sister still lives there (well, Park Ridge) and knows some of the security dudes that used to be on that show some years ago. The best she could get was some show about adult babies. Grown dudes that loved to act like little babies. Go figure. Some hook up. So much for being buddies with the security dudes on that show. Come to think of it, my parents tried to get me on the Bozo show back in the 70's but that waiting list so damn long that if you wanted your kid to be on it you had to get on the list the day after conception. But I ramble on.......
It's good to be paid by the hour at work.
