once I finish school (eta 57 yrs.) I should be able to move up to a higher paying job, and I do need to tighten up my fade

Here's the scoop: little over 20k a year, wife has no job, takes care of 12-month-old son. My 7 is paid for, her '99 sonata is paid for (c/o her parents), I have 27 months left on my motorcycle loan. Her parents are giving us a house, 4 story, 2 acres, already paid for. My funds will be going to up-keep of house (taxes, utility, etc.), and pretty much every aspect of living. In-laws offer to help, but I grew up pretty much poor, so I'm determined to do whatever I can on my own. Wife is used to getting what she wants, but now it's my money, and she's starting to realize that. You didn't ask for my life story, but I like to provide a thorough background of my issues.

and, sad enough, I love that song

right about now would be the appropriate time to post a pic of Nigel Powers, with the quote "got an issue, here's a tissue"

I love my situation, it will just take some time for my wife to get used to a budget...I pretty much have everything I want, except a catback and some nice suspension :bigthumg:

I am a "Property Administrator" for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Among other things, my main duties include ordering license plates, registrations, credit cards for gas, phone cards, and fuel keys (for federal-owned fueling stations) for the Commission's thousands of vehicles; including cars, trucks, planes, and many boats....these guys do some crazy stuff out there

and how the hell did this all of a sudden become a hot topic?

yeah, it's nice starting a retirement plan a age 18, and taking a paid vacation for spring break every year (if I want, not that I do)

and if I wanted, I could have pretty much unlimited free gas; I've got all these spare gas cards laying around, and most people never check their billing statements....I also keep all the vehicle titles, and keep the records of the vehicles' usage... ...but I'm too good to take advantage of that
