That's probably another reason, Mazda probably doesn't want it to be called a rally car.

That stupid intercooler bugs me though.

Ultimately, AWD is going to make the car slower, since it adds weight. You might get off the line a little quicker with AWD, but once the threat of wheelspin is gone, you're just toting dead weight and increasing friction losses. Unless we're talking about a rally car, and we aren't.

100 percent on the money right there!!!

I can see none of you guys have had a fast FWD. Reserve your coments until you have owned one...

And I like how they compare it to the entry level WRX. Thats cute.

Go ahead, read into how wheelspin is controled then come post back on how great the car is.

i forgot how you have more experience with fast FWD cars than most magazine editors. (people who make their living off of testing and evauluating cars in case you forgot) silly me for questioning you.

edit: oh and what else would you like for them to compare it to? a sports bread STI that costs 11-15K more? i think you might be dillusional.

they compare cars in the same price range, not if it's fully loaded or entry level.

if it's either fwd, rwd, or awd, it's going to have pros and cons. everything can't be perfect in this fucked up world.

Make a point that actually means something! Making dumb remarks doesnt make you right.

Tell me why you think this car is good.

Magazine editors are yuppies that went to school for journalism and will write a great article about how ergonomic an ash tray is... You know youve read these too..

It seems like some people will buy cars depending solely on ther critique.

And they drive factory cars, so, yes, I generally have more experience with fast FWDs than most typewriter jockeys. Equal length axles, lsds, you name it, I tried it. The FWD platform is flawed from the start for true performance. Please, tell me how the electronics are gonna save the day. I have a whole armory of ammo for that debate.

It seems im the only one that sees a problem with a well balanced rx8 BARELY pushing over 200hp, and a FWD, traction deprived, front heavy, understeering, econo-racer making 260+. Maybe I am delusional.

So...maybe Mazda decided to leave AWD for the MS6. I don't really care, seeing as how I'll never own either.

good power, good accleration, stiff chasis, good handling capabilities. the editors are saying that there is very little torque steer, theyve raced the car around a track, you havent driven one. their opinnion on whether its a good car or not > yours.

and maybe they made this car so people will start to take their performance cars seriously again?

Yea, that car will always be great (for a FWD).
